Did you know that Cenotes (sinkholes) were created by an accident?

Many years ago, when the great meteorite hit the Yucatan peninsula, it killed the dinosaurs on earth. The blow was so strong that the rock on which the Yucatan peninsula is sitting broke and allowed sea water to enter through its fractures, which remained as veins. At present these fractures have formed cenotes. All the cenotes of the peninsula are connected to each other.
